Meet Computomics at the National Association of Plant Breeders (NAPB) Annual Meeting 2023

Computomics at NAPB 2023

Computomics is excited to attend this year's annual meeting of the National Association of Plant Breeders (NAPB) 16-20 July, 2023, in Greenville, South Carolina.

The conference theme will focus on “Southern hospitality through food and agriculture.” Attendees will gain insight into the intersection of food and agriculture in the Southeast through culinary-inspired plant breeding, witness firsthand the role of stakeholders in participatory plant breeding, and envision the future of plant breeding through innovation and multidisciplinary collaboration. The in-person conference will feature interactive opportunities such as a pre-conference tour of Clemson’s research farms, engaging sessions, visits to specialty crop operations, and networking activities in the evening to connect, relax, and enjoy.

As global food demand increases, predicting crop performance under changing climate conditions becomes critical for sustainable agriculture. As a highly innovative bioinformatics company, Computomics works together with breeders and growers across all crops and breeding programs to develop new varieties to secure supply chain continuity, food security and biodiversity. To ensure food security and to meet the nutritional needs of billions of people, plant breeders have to use the full potential of the available genetic plant material, identify new useful traits and to speed up their breeding program. Computomics' machine learning-based technology SeedScore® supports traditional plant breeding methods and integrates additional variables such as information on the genotype, the cultivation environment and climatic conditions to identify the best-performing plants for any specific location.

Applying Computomics' machine learning technology SeedScore® to your breeding program will dramatically improve breeding efficiency and genetic gain for today’s and future climates. It helps plant breeders make more informed choice and helps the breeding company create their own signature genetics.
