Sales Professional EMEA (d/f/m)

Computomics is looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record of success in gaining and retaining customers with specific expertise in high-value strategic technical sales. You’re a team player who is proactive in supporting colleagues but can also work autonomously in accessing and organizing customer interactions.

Your key responsibilities are:

  • Work with sales director to develop specific annual growth plans in designated accounts.
  • Maintain an effective time and territory management plan.
  • Present business and technical information.
  • Identify customer needs and trends.
  • Follow up enquires and leads.
  • Maintain customer information utilizing approved information tools and technologies. (CRM)
  • Timely updates to opportunity funnel and weekly forecast updates.
  • Healthy funnel management through continual prospecting efforts and the ability to increase business in key accounts throughout different divisions.
  • Executing account mapping and strategy to identify key players within each account.
  • Identifying and qualifying specific projects and opportunities within designated accounts.

Machine Learning Scientist for Plant Breeding (d/f/m)
 Full-Time - in Tübingen

Computomics is looking to hire a machine learning scientist or AI expert with a focus on biological datasets.

Your Tasks:

  • Develop new machine learning methods for predictions of plant phenotypes
  • Establish novel optimization methods for feature selection
  • Devise new data integration methods for relevant datasets such as soil, EO, phenotype and genotype
  • Ensure all formal requirements of grants are kept, in particular timesheets, meeting participation, and reports
  • Contribute to bioinformatic projects and work with customer data   

 

Your Qualifications:

  • University degree or comparable qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Plant Science, Quantitative Genetics, or a related field
  • Either a minimum of 3 years of work experience or a PhD degree 
  • Understanding of plant breeding concepts, genotyping technologies (quantitative and population genetics)
  • Peer-reviewed publication(s) of machine learning methods or conference contributions 
  • Experience with tools used for software development in a team setting
  • Design of machine learning methods to enable biological/scientific discovery
  • Developed new optimization methods for feature selection
  • Familiar with most of these areas: statistical learning and programming (in Python & R (Shiny)), deep learning, bioinformatics, method development, simulations
  • Strong problem solving skills, proactive team player
  • Fluent in English and capable of working autonomously

Pangenome: Aligned sequences from multiple individuals of a species
Pangenome Graph: Compressed data structure to store a pangenome
Pantograph: Computomics’ interactive pangenome browser

Your Opportunities

  • Setting up showcase pangenome visualizations with Pantograph (plants and/or 1,000 humans) (Applied Bioinformatics)
  • Integrating gene expression data into Pantograph (Backend and Frontend work: C++ and TypeScript)
  • Streamlining pangenome-based genotyping (Applied Bioinformatics)
  • Improving the visualization of repeat sequences (Algorithm development in arbitrary programming language, e.g. Python, Rust, C++, …)

Your Qualifications and skills

  • University degree in bioinformatics/quantitative biology/mathematics or a similar discipline
  • Experience in programming, shell scripting, and data management in HPC
  • Basic knowledge of genetics and next-generation sequencing
  • Familiarity with genomic datasets is a plus
  • Good oral and written communication in English

HR Administrator (d/f/m) part time/ full time - in Tübingen

Computomics is expanding its HR team and is looking for an HR administrator to complement the existing team. We are looking for a team player who is proactive in supporting colleagues and also capable of working autonomously.

Your tasks:

  • Support with all administrative personnel issues
  • Preparation of employment contracts, certificates and attestations
  • Communication with external payroll provider
  • Assist with applicant management
  • Maintenance of personnel database
  • Answer employees inquiries about HR-related issues
  • Support and organization of employee & company events (such as travel accommodations)

Your Qualifications:

  • Professional training or studies in the commercial field, ideally with a focus on human resources
  • Work experience is a plus
